Impact on Greenhills:: SM Group to purchase Ortigas’ Greenhills Mall
In Feb, 2012 it was reported that the SM Group was in serious negotiation to take over the Oritgas Holding Group – whose holding include Greenhills Mall. The transaction is worth around $1 billion. The deal is seen as a potential “game-changing” move that will expand the SM group’s urban landbank and give it control of the Ortigases’ crown jewel, the 16-hectare Greenhills shopping center.
If the deal is finalize it should have a positive impact on Greenhills Mall and the surrounding area – making the Mall and the surrounding area more desirable.
